Alliance, OH: Mr. Joe Schatz, President of Winkle Industries recently announced that they have become the exclusive North American Distributor for GTS generators and magnet controllers. According to Schatz, “We are excited to further support our customers by adding the GTS product line to our aftermarket portfolio. We have a lot of experience with solid state technology and were familiar with the GTS product line, but in order to get a complete understanding of the innovation and enhancements that GTS has put into this product offering, we took the opportunity to talk to end-users in both Europe and the US. The new iMAPLA technology is proven, having been installed on many Liebherr, Terex and SENNEBOGEN material handlers around the world. Once we confirmed the research and development that has been placed into the new design, and had the opportunity to test and validate the results, we felt that this would be a great addition to our product offerings.”
Perfect Partner
Michael Ebbinghaus, President of GTS (Generator. Technick. Systeme. GmbH & Co. KG) indicated that GTS was looking to break new ground in the US and that they had approached Winkle Industries. “We had identified Winkle as the market leader in magnet technology and innovation and wanted to be partners with them. We are very pleased that they have agreed to be our representatives in North America. Their expertise, knowledge and distribution across the country makes them the ideal partner.”
According to Ebbinghaus, the new GTS iMAPLA systems are voltage regulated, sealed and maintenance free, making them ideally suited for work in harsh environments like scrap yards and steel mills. Furthermore, the MMI Plug ‘n’ Play system design for on-board diagnostics facilitates ease of operation and any troubleshooting of the system.
Maximum Efficiency
Mark Volansky, Director of Sales for Winkle Industries, reports that the iMAPLA compact design and small footprint means that the system can be placed almost anywhere on material handlers. “On top of everything else”, continued Volansky, “they have the ability to saturate the magnet quicker, resulting in faster cycle times and increased profitability for our customers.”
Enhanced design features are built in to withstand the demands of North American end-users, with full protection from under-speed, over-speed, over currents or short circuits. These features, combined with using lifting magnets properly sized to the iMAPLA system will extend the lifecycle of the product and ensure reliability.
Volansky reports that the initial response from the Winkle dealer base has been very positive and, “we will have inventory on-hand for timely responses. What we are looking at here is really the 2nd generation of GTS solid state magnet controls. It is more robust and ready to take on the rigors of the North American marketplace.”
